Tendance by Jean Santos is a hair salon in Praia de Mira, Portugal, run by stylist Jean Santos and his team, and specialising in cuts, colouring and highlights, straightening treatments, and botox capilar, alongside a full range of nail and waxing services. The project involved designing and developing a warm, editorial website that reflects the salon's consultation-first philosophy — every visit begins with listening to the client's routine and lifestyle before any service is recommended. As a Schwarzkopf Professional partner, working alongside Tahe and Truss, the salon needed a digital presence with the same care and craftsmanship as the experience in the chair.
Challenge
The main challenge was to give a neighbourhood salon in a small coastal town the kind of refined, boutique presence usually reserved for larger city studios, without losing the warmth and personal attention that defines Tendance. The site needed to clearly present the full service menu — hair, nails and waxing — make booking an appointment effortless, and introduce Jean Santos and the team in a way that builds trust before a client ever steps through the door. It also had to perform well for local search, so the salon could be easily found by people in and around Praia de Mira.
Solution
The solution was an elegant single-page experience built with Next.js and GSAP, pairing a dark plum and warm amber palette with a classic serif wordmark to give the brand an upscale, editorial feel. The homepage leads with the salon's philosophy — 'aqui cada cliente é único' — before guiding visitors through the gallery, the team, and a categorised services menu covering hair, nails and epilation. A persistent WhatsApp button keeps booking one tap away throughout the site. The result is a fast, mobile-first website that matches the premium, personalised service Jean Santos and his team deliver in person.
