Why We Redesigned Our Own Portfolio (Again)

Published on 2026-09-11

Studios are famously bad at finishing their own websites. Here's why we keep coming back to ours anyway.

There's a running joke that agencies build beautiful websites for everyone except themselves. It's true for a simple reason: client work has deadlines, and your own site doesn't — so it's the first thing to get deprioritized.

We revisit ours anyway, on purpose, because it's the one project where we can test ideas before offering them to clients — this blog, the case study layout, the structured data behind the scenes, all started as experiments here first.

It also keeps us honest. It's easy to tell a client their site needs updating; it's a better habit to hold our own to the same standard, on the same schedule.
