Inside Our Design Process: From Discovery Call to Launch

Published on 2026-09-01

A behind-the-scenes look at how a project actually moves from a first conversation to a live website.

Every project starts with a conversation, not a mockup. We ask about the business before we ask about design preferences — who the customer actually is, what makes them choose one option over another, and what success looks like six months after launch.

From there, the process moves through structure before style: a sitemap and content plan, then wireframes, then the visual design, and only then the build. Skipping straight to visuals tends to produce something pretty that doesn't actually solve the underlying problem.

The last stretch — testing, performance tuning, SEO setup, and a soft launch — usually takes as long as the design phase itself. It's the least glamorous part of the process and also the one that determines whether the site actually performs once it's live.
